Attic black figure Eye-Cup
ca. 500 BC
On both sides of the Kylix a horseman in the middle of a prominent pair of eyes. Left and right a naked youth. Under the handles a water bird. Black glaze on one side partly turning to red due to misfiring in the kiln.
Dimension: diameter 21,6 cm, width 27,5 cm, height 8,9 cm
Condition: Broken and reassembled with very carefully restored fractures. Three small losses replaced. Losses of the surface in the center filled. Apart from that in very nice condition.
Provenance: German private collection, since the 1980s.
