Byzantine Bread Seal

ca. 8th - 9th century AD.
Bronze with alternating dark green patina. Round disc with vertical rim, in it the name "Menas" in large letters: MHNAC. Reverse flat, the former small grip ring broken off in antiquity.
Dimension: diameter 5,7 cm, height 1,5 cm.
Condition: Grip ring on the reverse broken off, otherwise intact and in very good condition.
Provenance: Private collection V. G., Munich, since the 1980s.
