Luristan, 10th – 9th century BC

 

Bronze with shiny dark olive green patina. In the center of the openwork pin head stands the Master of animals with a horned cap on his head. He holds the hind paws of two felines standing on their heads to either side of him.

 

Dimension: length: 22,6 cm, width: 7,4 cm, depth: 1 cm

Condition: Intact and quite exquisitely preserved with smooth, shiny patina.

Provenance: German private collection B. W., Cologne. Acquired by the grandfather in the 1960s in the Art Trade in Cologne.
