Iranian ibex

Marlik, 1400 – 1200 BC

Bronze with malachite green patina. Schematic representation of the animal, which emphasizes the enormous, powerful horns. Two drilled holes in the body, through which a string or leather band could be pulled to hang it up. Due to its advanced age the bronze has crystallized and shows fine fissures on the hooves and beard. Comes with a customized acrylic glass base.
