Torso of a Kiliya Idol

Western Anatolia, 2700 – 2400 BC


Torso of a female idol made of white fine crystalline marble. Broad shoulders, arms separated from the body by sharp indentation. Pubic triangle marked by fine incision.


Dimension: height: 10,9 cm, width: 8,7 cm, depth: 2,4 cm

Condition: Head, arm tips and legs broken off. Back side sintered.

Provenance: German private collection S., Munich, since the 1980s.
